about disPLAY.

We are Kenzie O'Keefe and Erin Mallea.
We make the collages, hang the frames and document the process.
But what matters is you.
Tell us what you think.
All we ask is that you react!

March: Solstice Canyon, Malibu.

We left this frame in the ruins of a mansion that burned down in Solstice Canyon in Malibu. We hung it over a stove in the crumbling kitchen, and continued on our way. After spending an hour or so at a nearby waterfall, we walked back and found that it had been moved to another spot (a rock along the footpath) during our short time away from it. We suspected that it may have been moved by a group of female prisoners in orange jumpsuits that passed by us when we were at the waterfall. We've only had a handful of tangible reactions to our project, and we were really excited by this one!

disPLAY in Eurasia: T'bilisi, Georgia

For two weeks, I (Kenzie) have been visiting friends in T'bilisi, the capitol city of Georgia, South of Russia and just East of Turkey. My carry-on sized bag couldn't fit many frames, so I tried to be choose wisely when it came to the placement of the ones I did manage to bring. The "Keep Out" frame is tied to one of many shoes I found cemented to building walls and sidewalks when my friend Martin and I tried to hike up to the ferris wheel in Mtatsminda amusement park. We never made it to the park, but the street art we found along the way was well worth the journey.

Plastic bags seem to grow on trees in Georgia, and they were very useful to me when I tried to hang the frame on a telephone pole. I pulled them out of some bare winter branches and tied them into a rope to dangle the frame from. I left this one in my favorite spot so far in T'bilisi, a quiet elevated path behind the Pellant's house that offers a great view of the whole sparkling city and the hazy historic churches floating off in the misty mountains
